With Oscar TV, guests pair their phone with the room TV and cast their own content. Pairing starts from the QR code shown on the TV, over the property’s Oscar WiFi network.
The TV can then become a screen for the guest’s films, photos and music: an experience closer to the habits of people on the move, to be assessed based on the TVs and network already in place.
Pairing starts from the TV
- The guest connects to the Oscar WiFi network.
- They scan the QR code on their room TV with their phone and follow the pairing steps.
- In the app they are using on their phone, they choose to cast to the TV, where available.
The phone stays in control of the content. Whether casting is available depends on the app, the device and the setup installed: not every combination offers the same options.
Every room needs its own screen
In a hospitality business, making a TV visible on the network is not enough. The journey has to connect guests to the TV in their own room, so they do not pick another room’s screen by mistake.
